How is a lesson structured?

A 30 minute lesson varies according to the length of time a student has been studying.

For example, a beginning student will spend time learning the notes of the keyboard, positioning, fingering and playing exercises and songs that will help develop keyboard awareness. Whereas a student that has been playing for a while will have a lesson structured with time for scales and chords, and usually two pieces of repertoire where we will cover all aspects of playing including harmonic and rhythmic concepts, fingering and practice strategies to bring these pieces to a performance level.
